#30daysofcaninescience *Day 5*

This time I decided to not focus on finishing the task, but to use this opportunity to evaluate my timing and concentration skills. I can see that when I can’t focus (after a minute or two), the behaviour is deteriorating. So, it’s important to shorten the sessions to get a better result.

It would be nice to be able to do this kind of training without getting frustrated or get anxiety. That is something I really have to work on.

My job

  • Timing

I'm pretty happy with my timing. Most of the time I seem to klick when they're opening their mouths. But sometimes it was just impossible.

  • Doing it

I haven't been training with this kind of precision for a long time now. I have been focusing on the relationship and accepting that things don't have to be perfect.

  • Duration

I noticed in the videos that I can't manage to stay focused for more than 1-1,5 minutes. I need to shorten my sessions and take longer breaks in between. Especially when training micro behaviour.

  • Analysing

I used to spend a lot of time planning and analysing my training, but that made me feel too much pressure and frustration. I have been working a lot on things not having to be perfect, but just pure fun. Performance anxiety is my enemy.
